WHAT THE CHINESE IN MALAYSIA REALLY WANT

INTRODUCTION

Having failed to achieve absolute control by proxy in Indonesia  following the downfall of their stooge & protector, the late tyrant Suharto, the Chinese of South East Asia (the Kuomintang) have turned their sights on Malaysia in a bid to topple the Malay majority government there.

The Chinese appear dissatisfied and annoyed with the status of Malays in a nation carefully nurtured and cultivated to its present stage of industrialisation by former Prime Minister Dr. Mahahtir Mohamed.

The Malays of Malaysia are in a majority comprising at least 63% of the population. They are the indigenous people of the country. The Indians (6%) and the Chinese who form the remainder are the second largest ethnic group. The nation is divided along race and religious lines.

Whilst the Chinese were favoured in commerce and trade from the time of the British, a practice which continues to this day, the Indians consist mainly of a few professionals, small business people and the rest largely low paid labourers.

Singapore under its first Prime Minster had designs over Malaysia since its birth all those years ago. In his own words he had ‘dreamed all his adult life of a merger between the two states’. For what reasons he dreamed such a dream is now becoming clearer.

The Chinese of Malaysia and Indonesia have great regard for the man Lee Kuan Yew. The Malays to a large part see him as a gate keeper of foreign interests (with good reason) and an abject and unmitigated racist. The Chinese of south east Asia see the area through Lee Kuan Yew’s prism of greater China and with it a right to dominate the place as if it were naturally theirs to dominate.

LANDLESS SINGAPORE’S MALAY LAND GRAB

Singapore of late and with the assistance of the immediate past Prime Minister of Malaysia, Abdullah Badawi, engineered a coup whereby they conveniently renegotiated the supply of Malaysian water to Singapore on unrealistically favourable terms to Singapore, much to the detriment of Malaysia. All of this achieved without debate or disclosure of any real consequence from either side.

Mahathir, an obstacle to Singapore’s ambitions in the peninsula, had left the stage. They were now free to engage in the politics of intimidation and division and had a ready made chameleon, a spineless, vain and incompetent leader in Badawi.

There was no need to gauge public opinion on something as vital as water or land as is characteristic of Singapore’s style of patrimony, its benevolent dictatorship which they call democratic government down there. Unaccountable and unresponsive to their people as always,  self assured in their condescension of their subjects, they assisted Badawi to sell his country’s most precious asset to them for a song. And sell it Badawi did.

More dangerously, Badawi allowed Singapore’s state and private interests to acquire significant tracts of Malaysian land (the Johor corridor)  for them to develop a massive industrial complex (proposal) using Singaporean and foreign investments channeled through Singapore and the use of imported Chinese labour from China. Along with Badawi was a convenient acquiescing Sultan of Johor, who consented to the appropriation of land within his state by Singaporean Chinese interests.

The proposed development and its strategy gives Singapore de facto control over a significant land mass of Malaysia without it having a political mandate from Malaysians to run the area. Very smart, very dangerous.

Perhaps the new lingua franca in this land mass would also be Mandarin in future to cater for the imported Chinese (non Malay) labour they intend (and have already begun to) to bring in to create a sphere of an extension of the Pulau Batam experiment. Singapore off shore territory, Malaysia on lease in a Malay neutral cultural vacuum.

STEALTH

There has been no referendum on this re design of the boundaries of Malaysia nor even a cursory impact study of the consequences of such a significant transfer of ownership of land and a bud grafting of an entire new culture of Chinese onto Malay soil. No one has sought fit to seek approval and consents of Malaysia’s most important citizens, its Malay majority.

Nor have the finer terms of this sale or the results of any socio economic impact studies on its mainly Malay population been made public for the people it is most likely to effect to consider. There was no public discussion no consultations with effected groups and communities of any significance so to speak of. Nothing has been done for any meaningful public debate or input to be considered form the effected communities.

Badawi held hands with his Singaporean counterparts in what was clearly a purely commercial deal with political and social implications for Malaysians, especially its Malay population in a majority and to whom the land is inalienable being Tanah Melayu. This appears to be a repeat of the historic handing over of Singapore’s sovereignty to Britain for a pistol and a few trinkets to the Johor Sultanate by Britain all those years ago.

Badawi appears to have done a Habibie on Malaysia. Habibie we recall sold out East Timor to an Australian led force in support of former Marxist guerillas with Portuguese and Chinese backing under the pretext of a deteriorating security situation.

The security situation was created and nurtured at its inception with Australia’s assistance under Suharto aided then by Australia’s defence aid to Indonesia. East Timor was then carved out of Indonesia into a new independent state during mayhem engineered by the UN, Portugal and Australia.

So it now appears that international law does recognise in its breach  the take over of foreign lands not only through conquest but also by treaties that ignore the will of a majority. Necessity and bilateral economic agreements are mere camouflages to lend a semblance of legitimacy and respectability to appropriation of other people’s land.

A SMEAR FOR DISTRACTION

The smear campaigns have begun. Most of it directed at the most likely candidate capable of galvanising Malay sentiment to tear up these arrangements and the stealthy occupation of Malay soil. Dr. Mahathir Muhammed appears willing to go all the way on this one.

Singapore acutely aware of his potency in dismantling their plans for occupation by stealth is widely viewed as the source of Malay indignation and Chinese chauvinism in Malaysia. Its campaigns have been to stir the  political landscape of Malaysia that has become so divisive and polarized provoked by statements from Singapore of late.

Malaysia’s Chinese are openly looking for Lee Kuan Yew type leadership not for his recorded economic achievements but for the fact the Chinese will dominate Malaysia as they have done Singapore. The Chinese like the Indians of Africa and Fiji are cultural chauvinists not willing to assimilate but to dominate at any cost.

The fact Mahathir has achieved more progress for Malaysia in less time with less pain inflicted on his people appears irrelevant to the Malaysian Chinese and sectors of its Indian communities. So Mahathir appears now to be their target, the focus of their smear campaigns. Lest he further encourage the Malays to be assertive of their rights and put paid to the Singaporean occupation of a third of Malaysian soil Mahathir has become the pre occupation of Singapore and its local Malaysian Chinese supporters.

What a crap piece of history twisting!

1st the water supply agreements was agreed & signed long before Badawi was the PM. In fact the revision of one of the agreement was supposed to ‘re-confirmed’ during mamak’s term of PM-ship. Instead mamak’s let it slipped through via his typical form of hoodoo-management style of ‘Unaccountable and unresponsive to their people as always.’ Mamak in short sold his country’s most precious asset to their greatest rival for a song as the govt servants under his care were sleeping in deep slumber!

Dare to challenge this piece of fact?

‘Contrary to the popularly built up myth of Singapore being the result f Lee Kuan Yew’s genius which he constantly allows his media to spin about him, it was not Lee’s economic genius that made Singapore but that of Dutch economist Albert Winsemius.’

    Another typical self-deluded piece-meal propaganda!

Suffice to say that if u can provide peer-reviewed documentations to substantiate yr claim, I’ll show similar argumentative proofs that NEP’s main architect is one Finnish Dr Just Faaland.

‘Singapore’s success has nothing to do with Chinese ingenuity, hard work, higher work ethics or superiority over the Malays in commerce.’

Similarly – show peer-reviewed proofs & I’ll drown u with truck load of peer-reviewed writings (that’s mysteriously unavailable in M’sia) that show none of the so-called glokal Malay M’sians r successful without first robbing the Joe M’sians’ tax-paying money. Remember Halim, Tajudin? Glokal? My foot!

‘..Mahathir achieved in much a shorter time than Lee’s six decades of pain and oppression Lee had inflicted on his people to get his results’

Ouch! The current M’sian govt is running out of money, petronas has to forcibly cash out the cash reserve to top-up the dividend payment to the govt. Who causes that? Badawi, yes? Mamak, no?

Enuff!!!!! U r just like one of those DN choir boys, in trying very hard to frame mamak as a Malay, knowing fully that anthropologically one’s family trace follow patriarchal line. Unless the Malay M’sian suddenly has a new definition of their race beside the Constitutional wordings! Remember – if yr grandfather is an Indian Muslim, u will always defined as an Indian Muslim, even if yr grandmother & mother r true-blooded Malay M’sians.

A true pariah cyber-trooper! Get pay & do rubbish works, just like all those blood-sucking u-know-whos.

The saddest part is that the paymasters r even worst – means justify the ends, as long as the money keep coming in & r diverted to oversea accounts!

    1. Excellent work. You must be one of the calibre of Chinese this article refers to. Yelling, name calling, not bothering to read from the sources quoted and in general behaving like a true senior middle three Chauvanist. We need more proofs like you. Ask some of your colleague s to join you.

Interstingly you have noted Malaysian government is running out of money. Well they did not spend several billions of employee savings on purchainsg failed banks then ask their workers to work longer to retirement. And Malaysia’s government does not revolve around one single family. Some significant differences. There are more governments running low on money.

The economic crisis we face today is referred to as the “international Banking Crisis” because it has effected everyone. China has lost tens of billions in US assets. European countries like Iceland, Sweden, the Czech republic have nearly reached bankruptcy. Thats got nothing to do with Malays and your perception of them.

      Thanks for your contribution.

Definitely will get the DAP niks, Malay apologists and “exPM not so Sleepyhead after all” supporters working overtime to contain the fall out. Job Well done and Keep it up.

    1. Malaysians ought not to simply speak out only when it hurts or upssets their narrow race, culture or religious based sensitivities. If we took care of the feelings of others, in this case the majority who are Malays in a democracy such as Malaysia is, then we need not worry about NEP’s UMNO’s, BN’s or DAP’s and Nik’s and PKR’s need not have to become house boys of the gate keepers of outsiders.

Culture is as important to Malays as it is to others. And being cultured also means recognising how sensitive someone else’s culture and religion is to him or her and having the courage, the steele and the honesty to speak out when that is in danger. Today you. Tomorrow me.

This latest posting summed up the gist of the matter we’re facing now in Malaysia..

Termed it as whatever name they like whether ketuanan melayu, cronyism, police brutality, undemocratic etc….all just to show the Malays as people of failure and no amount of ingenuity, inventiveness, tolerance , patience, courtesy and politeness offered by the Malays to all the people in Malaysia will satisfy them.

It seems they are going for the kill this time, time is catching up, it’s do or die mission to take over Malaysia before the godfather in Singapore dies or before the godfather’s “ very old” torch bearer here in the guise of DAP also dies. There’s nothing to lose and all to gain. The opportunity was just perfect and right when Badawi ruled this country..but the momentum was halted by Mahathir. They realized that and hence the hatred towards Mahathir continues. They will use whatever means they have and will use whatever sentiments to get support from the other Malays (PKR and PAS), they know these other Malays still have the niceties of the gentle Malays and can easily be influenced by them.

If this is a football game, we are in the half time period..we got 45 minutes to go…maybe we should bring in new strikers or change tactics . If this is In Da Gadda Da Vidda..we’re in the middle of the drum solo….and we should hit hard.

    1. I like your analogies. I am of the Iron Butterfly vintage and remember Ina Gada Da Vida well. I hope it does not come to blows. We have to remember the army has a role to play if civilian rule falls apart at the next elections. For that the chief of the armed forces has to have impeccable credentials as far as his or her loyalty to Malays and Malaysia. It will be to everyone’s advantage not only Malays.

We are having to censor a large number of letters where writers use invectives to describe what they believe is a betrayal on our part. We are generally being accused of being BN and UMNO paid bloggers. So its good to have those who write sensibly.

Ok, a good piece of writing. You have aptly describe the puncas and sebabs why the SEA Chinese are so eager to do Kungfu and Tai Chi nowdays.

Alas, it is all about race-domination and racial superiority spearheaded of a near senile Chinese leader down south. The Malays are also tidur but recent events have made a few bangun. Like me.

I suka Tun Dr.M labelled LKY mindset as a continuance of the feudalistic Middle Kingdom. Aha.

I do believe that the GRAND DESIGN OF CHINESE KIASU culture will die off soon unless LKY do find the LONGEVITY PILL but like the first emperor of China who died miserably so do LKY and his band of heroes.

BTW, I do not wish to hail the FIRST EMPEROR OF S.E.A during my lifetime nor do the rest of the Malays and other sensible Malaysian citizens.

It is interesting the responses we get from this piece. We are no Susan Loone or Nutgraph voices for the apologists and those shallow political ideologues who wish to create a political Disneyland to suit the tension of their panties and thong G straps.

Much of the responses we have had to delete which include the invectives allowed in Loone, RPK and the wannabes.

I read your post on Wain’s book last night and yes interesting it was. Perhaps a lot of truths in your arguments.

And today I find this one.
Lee Kuan Yew’s dreams will remain dream.
Mahathir, there will not be another one like him. I am facinated by the man. Saw his first several moves in mid 80’s. His bold approach pretty much told me where he was taking this country to. He ain’t no angel but he is not the devil.

    Like

    1. Thats precisely the point. Most critics of Mahathir are so desperate to condemn the man that they look for things they wish were there to hang him with. Wain’s book was written with vilification of Dr. Mahathir in mind. It is not a piece of well researched work at all. It is instead an indulgence to satisfy the very vivid imagination of those who cannot stand the idea that a Malay is capable of what the Chinese (and some Indians too I might add) believe is a monopoly on intelligence.

Dr.Mahathir is no different to any of the other world leaders who are statesmen who in their determination to develop their country stepped on a few toes in the process. He has few peers in Asia for what he has achieved and is nobody’s slave.

I hope i’ll die before seeing all this happens.

I’ll pray for the best and hope that all of us
malay, chinese & indians could live happily similar to what we had during the 80’s – 2k’s (before TDM stepped down)

I strongly feel that our malaysian chinese are not as typical & conservative like their counterpart in Singapore…
Wiah that the 60’s riot never occurs again.

One thing to ponder; “The stability of Malaysia, relies largely on the stability of the indigenous people” – and thats the fact.

They live in peace and tranquility within the confines of the environment we as “civilized” people Malay, Chinese and Indian have imposed on them. They constitute a majority. They know not what others with power have usurped the role of the almighty to plan and to execute for them without their consents. Its now up to UMNO to show what they are really made of. Ask their Youth leaders to read this then comment. We have received private emails from individuals within their ranks thanking us but not from any with the power to act it would appear.

  8. Great article, one of the good written ones I have read in a while.

Agreed fully that TunM achieved different things than LKY, goals were probably different too, one was about the people, and the other more about the state.

Anyhow, why did TunM also perpetuated the myth of the Chinese or ‘THE SINGAPORE CHINESE MYTH’ in your words, that heredity/natural entrepreneurial skills also played an important role, through his book ‘The Malay Dilemma’.

Also fully agree that the Chinese have a lot to be grateful for when it comes to eating pork and not being restricted to practice their culture till today.

    Again, nice writeup.

    1. Thank you for your comments on the article. TDM did not perpetuate the Chinese Myth. All he did was to make a point and a valid one at that about the Chinese. He TDM did not attempt a fraudulent and skewed analysis using eugenics or genetics even though he is a qualified medical practitioner and could well have made his point legitimately along those lines.

Lee Kuan has made several statements on the reasons why Chinese are “better and superior” to Malays and Indians and then attempts to attribute their “successes in commerce and trade and the professions” their their superior genetic make up without any proof. A load of Baloney.

A small distorted sample where the benefits and privileges to achieve what he wants them to achieve in his self fulfilling prophesies is no proof of any genetic superiority. The Apartheid regime in South Africa did the same as did Hitler. Using Lee’s samples and his methods the Jews ought to be idiots and the Germans and Swedes and Dutch geniuses. Far from it although I do not suggest there are no geniuses amongst the Non Jews the “Ubermenschen”.

TDM merely made a point which was factual and evident in Malaysia at the time.

Yes the pork and alcohol “non tariff barriers’ which the Malays are subject and don’t complaiun about is food for thought (no pun intended).

  9. I must congratulate you for such a wonderfool article mr. gopal kumar raj. Indeed we are faced with the masses of chinese and their keling counterparts supported by networks in singapore, indon, thai, and china/taiwan monetarily, financially, physically, and mentally. Accusations and issues of racism, bigotry, apartheid, BTN, MACC and other ungood means are brought about to derail the govenment that rightfully belongs UMNO.

sadly najib razak instead of taking what is needed per wishes of The Great Tun Dr. M has instead acquiesced to the whims and fancies of the lieberal malays, chinese and kerling counterparts. This development must be stopped asap for we do not have much time to the 13 GE and Tun Mahathir himself does not have much time. Already the U & M is missing from the UMNO building at the PWTC giving appearance of ‘NO to UMNO’, is this a fortelling from Providence of our end?

Already a movement is brewing amongst the faithful to unseat Najib and install Muhiyiddin, with Mukriz as deputy. The ultimate goal will be to have Mukriz as Perdana Menteri, for he will be able to control the nation according to Mahathius policies of plusgood strong governmence. Inshallah we will easily remove Muhiyiddin as I from past meetings has always found him indecisive and hopelessly clueless.

    But it is not merely by install Mukhriz that we will regain past glory. No we will have to deal with subversive elements and the little red dot south that is the source of funds for these vermin monetarily, financially, physically, and mentally or they will continue gnawing at the roots of the tree of UMNO. Following Mukhriz’s ascension these must be done, in quick order;

    – elimination of criticism of the UMNO-lead government;
mass ISA arrest, misterious vaporizing of opposition leaders, social activist/anarchist, intellectvals, intelligensia, and the Khairy & Razaleigh factions within UMNO. No opposition be tolerated, all critique be asap unpersoned with the iron fist of the Secret Polis, militia gangs, and mass surveilance of all proles a-la Big Brother.

    – reeducation of youth 16-35 and elimination of stubborn elements;
i believe you are aware of this trend among the young all malay, chinese, and indian to oppose UMNO and BN. the ancension of Mukhriz alone will not suffice without dealing with this demografik, the youth will continue to rebel and influence generations before them. remember that pinochet, milosevic, and suharto all fell through the power of the underestimated youth of Chile, Serbia, and Indon.

the local arts, music, film scene with their hives in Bangsar/Central Mkt/KL help fuel the ‘coolness’ of rebellion of our youth with crimethink. all forms of art, music, film must be remake to reflect ‘aspirasi nasional’ and ‘dasar budaya nasional’, and any work that unconforms must be made goodthink fullwise.

This demografik of 16-35 must be all reeducated in a Year Zero kempen of specially created camps and made to love Muhkriz and UMNO on pain of suffering. universities, colleges, and especially the IPTS be closed and replaced with institution where nationalism & love to UMNO be drilled 24/7. remember the malay proverb: ‘biar mati anak, jangan mati adat’. Better to lose generations than lose the country.

    – elimination of Singapore by military means;
Our past effort to remove this Chinese Isreal through political & deplomatic means have met with failure. Like Speedy Gonzales, they also escape with our mousetrap. We feel any such future effort by political manueverings be unfruitful for they will always outfox us.

Indeed up till this very morning they continue to slap Mahathir in his face by merely existing. Despite your brilliant piece, the mere existence of Red Dot with their higher economy, GDP, social services, life expectance, et. is a guerilla advertisment to the world of our pourpoted failures.

If we cannot surpass them in that court, it is best to destory it. For as long as they exist as a sovereign state it will continue to be source of funds monetarily, financially, physically, and mentally for subversive ungood elements in our nation. As some ancient sage called Goa Tze said; ‘if you kill each rat in your house you see, you keep killing rat until end of world. Remove rubbish pile behind house, then you have no more rat’.

But Singapore will not attack first, so it deems important that incidents engineered to justify subsequient militiary action upon Red Dot. For example, we can shell villages on the Johor side, the aftermath we can blame on singapore artillery units and giving us pretext to declare war in ‘self-defence’. An added benifit will be declration of Emergency and suspension of parliment and election, giving UMNO supreme infinite rule over Malaysia.

Yes, Singapore will have the added militiary advantage, but I have counted even in the worst case of 1 Singaporean killing 20 Malaysians we still have enough manpower to completely eradicate the Red Box of 5 million people.

These may sound harsh & extreme and even many of my contemporaries see it as mere lunacy. But good medicine never tastes good. Think about it and you will agree.

  10. When you use the term Chinese which specific group of Chinese you mean. Do you mean the Singaporean Chinese, Malaysian Chinese or Indonesian Chinese? Because socially and politically, Singaporean Chinese are very different from Malaysian Chinese. There is very little links other than the fact that a large portion of the Singaporean professionals are made up of Malaysian Chinese. (In fact you could say that, without the professional and skilled labor in the form of Malaysian Chinese, Singapore would be a lot less successful than it is today)

I think your conspiracy theory about a Chinese takeover attempt is several decades behind time already. Maybe it was plausible back in the 60’s and 70’s but the year is now 2010. The world has changed, i.e. Globalization.

Let me tell you the truth about the New Generation of Malaysian Chinese. They couldn’t care less about ruling this country called Malaysia. Most young Chinese in the country today care very little about local politics. Some can’t even name you who is the current DPM of Malaysia let alone their constituency’s rep. And little surprise, most aren’t even registered as voters.

With the advent of Globalization the young Chinese today have set their eyes outside of Malaysia. Why do you think that 300,000 Malaysians migrated overseas in 2009 alone? People today go where they believe they can best pursue their life’s happiness.

For the young Chinese today, many aspire to get OUT of Malaysia, NOT to rule Malaysia. The Malaysian chinese population have declined dramatically from 37% at independence to currently at 25%. By the year 2021, it is estimated it would be 21%.

So it is a huge over generalization to just claim that the ‘Chinese’ have some hidden agenda to somehow take control of Malaysia. You can say LKY has a secret agenda to take control of Malaysia. You can say Singapore. But please, don’t say Chinese, because the majority of normal working class Malaysian Chinese have very little desire to seize control Malaysia. They have their sights set on migrating to developed countries like Singapore or Australia.

PS: You are incorrect in saying there is no country with chinese ethnicity that is democratic. Taiwan is a democratic country and it has been proven democratic as the government of the the day has changed hands between political parties before. And its head of state has even been hauled up on corruption charges before.

  11. You are quite correct in that the Chinese of the three states in south east Asia you name are socially different. That comes about because of the environment they live in.

In Indonesia for instance they are a lot more covert in their political and social profiles. The fact that they pay money to the army as they did under Suharto and corrupted the entire social and political fabric of that society is not an imaginary line or a fiction designed to tar the entire community everywhere with the same brush. What the Indonesian Chinese supported with their Singapore counterparts in Indonesia and Malaysia was opportunistic, is documented and is legend.

The fact they collectively supported a butcher as an ‘anti communist’ and benefitted from his being in power is no secret. Malaysian Chinese did not quite have that opportunity. However none of the Hwa Chao in the diaspora of Chinese in the region spoke out about their support and benefitting from the blood money of Suharto and his regime. Instead they basked in the glory of their prowess with money and in business complete with its laundered image of being straight, clean and the by product of hard working people which is only partially correct.

For that support of a “Hitler” in the region all Chinese in the region are tainted. 3.5 million Indonesian dead is like 2 million Cambodian dead under a Chinese protege in Pol Pot. Hard to accept that the silence of the rest of the Chinese community in this regard was anything less than consent.

Singaporean Chinese do not face the same threats of being a minority in Singapore. Lee ensured that by selectively taking in Chinese from Malaysia and Indonesia in the early 1960’s denying even those entitled to citizenship from the Malay,Indian, the European and Eurasian communities to set up a Chinese Singapore he achieved Chinese domination of the island state by Chinese. So they are rather different in that respect. But the domination aspect of my argument remains. And their benefitting from blood money cannot be erased from the pages of history. They seek total domination of the region having already tasted it in Singapore.

In Malaysia the only reason the Chinese migrate to Australian is because the Malays have resisted their attempts at domination and will continue to do so well into the future. In Malaysia the official population statistics appear to be a shadow of the real population statistics much like it is in a corrupted Australia.

There has been an explosion of illegal Chinese like there has been in Australia (where there are almost 800,000 illegal Chinese) and their objectives remain the same. It is gauged from their conduct and their relationship with the non Chinese communities wherever they settle to live.

Whilst technically you may be correct about generalisations, the fact remains that the Chinese from China and the Malaysian Chinese have one objective in common. And that is their claim to anything in the south seas which they claim to have given up but which their conduct says otherwise.

Lee Kuan Yew does have his sights on a Singapore Chinese dominated Malaysia. If there is such a difference as you claim exists, then it s incumbent on you to demonstrate it.

Taiwan has the ballot box. It came about over the past 2 decades and thats about it. Nothing else is democratic about them. The do not consult with their electorates and take unilateral decisions. Thats not democracy. Democracy is about inclusive government through inclusion and participation. The Taiwanese abuse and exclude their indigenous population form meaningful participation there and the Kuomintang has a very tight rein on what can be said done and spoken about there. Nothing democratic about that.

    But it is not merely by install Mukhriz that we will regain past glory. No we will have to deal with subversive elements and the little red dot south that is the source of funds for these vermin monetarily, financially, physically, and mentally or they will continue gnawing at the roots of the tree of UMNO. Following Mukhriz’s ascension these must be done, in quick order;

I have no desire to even go for local adun or some such let alone takeover anything for goodness sake. All friends and families that I know of (and I repeat ALL of them) have no such crazy desires.

You painted the picture as if all chinese in Malaysia, in fact the world, is one large secret organization communicating with each other and just waiting to bring down the government for chinese domination.

Your generalization of the chinese is highly insulting.

Imagine if one were to say that all Indians are drunkards and wife beaters and good-for-nothing trash of the society. Is that not an unfair and insulting generalization to indians as well?

    Like

    1. We are glad that you have decided to stand up and to alert us to the fact that the generalization could possibly be untrue. However in an environment such as Malaysia has become, with the conduct and anti Malay anti Indian sentiments being promoted by the Kit Siangs, the Theresa Kok’s the Elizabeth Wongs and the general mistrust of Chinese politicians and their constituents (Penang and Selangor) in the community from their betrayal of their Malay and other non Chinese constituents, it is not difficult to convince an angry public that this may well be the case.

Add to it the unashamed and very public support of Lee Kuan yew and Singapore and their state sponsored insult of Malays and Indians, we do apologise if it sometimes hits a raw nerve with the Malaysian Chinese in what we write.

The attacks on TDM through the chain letters purporting to be Soros’s letter and the book by Wain paid for (in more ways than one) by the Singaporean view (read 90% Chinese) of TDM and others, we do not see why a generalisation in this regard is offensive. It surely cannot be any more offensive than how non Malays feel when Chinese sit in the side lines, promote the anti Malay sentiment these days, condemn the Sultans and government when it suits them and blame all and sundry for the country’s woes promoting an anti Malay coalition as an acceptable alternative.

To you and to you alone we say if it offends you we feel for you. We say so for your honesty and candour. But we can only withdraw these generalisations where support for the truth in them is withdrawn by the mainly Chinese constituency that promote such hatreds of Malays, their NEP, Indians. Remember, that although they did not publicly proclaim it, MCA stalwarts and Chinese businessmen including the proprietor of the Star Malaysia were instrumental in driving Badawi’s violent and disproportionate reaction to the Hindraf rally 27 November 2007.

  15. Dear GRKumar,

You have an amazing ability to state that ‘generalization could possibly be untrue’ yet at the same time generalize all the chinese.

‘we do not see why a generalisation in this regard is offensive’

    and:

‘we can only withdraw these generalisations where support for the truth in them…..’

So where does that leave me and other politically neutral chinese?

‘Oh I feel for you but sorry to say I still have to hate you coz you are chinese’?

Sorry to say that but you are not commenting with facts but just plain hate-mongering.

“with the condduct and anti Malay anti Indian sentimnents being promoted by the Kit Siangs, the Theresa Kok’s the Elizabeth Wongs and the general mistrust of Chinese politicians and their constituents (Penang and Selangor) in the community from their betrayal of their Malay and other non Chinese constituents”

And tell me please how are they being anti-Malay and anti-Indian and what betrayal did they do?

“Add to it the unashamed and very public support of Lee Kuan yew and Singapore ond their state sponsored insult of Malays and Indians”

I have yet to see anyone from DAP, in fact anybody else in Pakatan Rakyat, commenting about their support for LKY and that tiny red dot. Can you enlighten me on this with some press statements from them? Or even a blog link from their blogs?

“The attacks on TDM through the chain letters purporting to be Soros’s letter and the book by Wain paid for (in more ways than one) by the Singaporean view (read 90% Chinese) of TDM and others”

I don’t care about Soros and I dont know who is Wain. And I have yet to meet any chinese that knows about Wain. Who is Wain? And just because of a book written by a Singaporean that means all chinese are anti malays? Malaysian Chinese? Gawd…

“…how non Malays feel when Chinese sit in the side lines, promote the anti Malay sentiment these days, condemn the Sultans and government when it suits them and blame all and sundry for the country’s woes promoting an anti Malay coalition as an acceptable alternative”

Malays or non-malays? There ARE some chinese that are anti malay. But I have no quarrels with the malays. And non of the chinese that I know of are anti-malays or promoting anti-malay colaitions.

“…MCA stalwarts and Chinese businessmen including the proprietor of the Star Malaysia were instrumental in driving Badawi’s violent and disproportionate reaction to the Hindraf rally 27 November 2007”

Please elaborate on how did the MCA stalwarts and chinese businessmen were instrumental on this respect? Who are the ‘MCA stalwarts’? Who are the ‘chinese businessmen’? Can give some facts please or is it just generalization without facts again?

Who walked the corridors of power? The chinese?

Who ordered the FRU and police to act like that on 27 November? The chinese?

Who are the FRU and police who tear gas, spray chemical water and beat up the protesters? Are they chinese?

And as far as I know, there were no chinese who made any police reports against Hindraf so what are you talking about?

The Star? My goodness, what about Utusan Malaysia? It was openly racist and full of hate and you said nothing about that? Is it because Utusan is not chinese owned? Are we talking about selective persecution here?

So what about those chinese like me? Just because we look like chinese, talk like chinese and act like chinese we deserve to be hated because of what some other chinese does?

Can I say “oh I feel for you. But still, I don’t see why generalization of the indians that they are wife beating drunkards and trash of the society is offensive?”

Or “oh the malays I know of are nice decent people but I don’t see why generalization that the malays are lazy daughter raping and bag snatching mat rempits are wrong”?

Can you see why generalization is wrong and evil?

Your article has no facts and just plain hate-mongering on chinese

  16. You are selectively reading whats written in the article about what the Chinese want, your reference to our response to you in this regard is sad.

No one was really apologising to anyone for anything said or written in this article.

The remark was a bit toungue in cheek. A bit like the Lim Kit Siang, Theresa Kok and Elizabeth Wong attitudes to any form of posting on their “Malaysian or Anak Bangsa Malaysia” web blogs. Carry a slogan about being democratic and excise the views of anyone they do not agree with.

They take a self righteous view to anything even remotely different to their views of Malays and any other issues they care to invite debate on . A typical response from these three and for that matter most other Chinese bloggers is to censor any view that does not join them in universal condemnation and stereotyping of Non Malays accompanied by a Cacophony of Chinese screams in their blogs that support overt racist slogans and views o non Chinese in the region.

We won’t pander to anyone’s hurt in this regard. Go read those blogs. They do represent a largely Chinese constituency. Especially the blogs of Lim Kit Siang and the Ah Chee Theresa Kok who promotes Chinese chauvanism in the region.

Generalisations often are true. Especially in the context of this particular article about the south east Asian Chinese begining with Malaysia.

No less true than the Chinese generalisations of Malays espoused by Lee Kuan Yew, his Indonesian clients (the Chinese oligopolies in Indonesia who tread on Suharto’s Indonesian Malay blood soaked path to make their fortunes) and that of the now Chin Peng followers in Malaysia who so aggressively seek to further China’s long held views that the south east Asia area is part of greater China.

We have no need to educate you or anyone else for that matter who feels slighted by the article any more than you or any other would want to educate the rest of us as to why you would continue to negatively stereotype the Malay or other non Chinese in furtherance of your own agendas.

It has always been a part of the history of the region that the Chinese for have sought domination of the region. After world war 2 it was through the Kuomintang and its opium selling private armies corrupting the leadership of the region before that through its network of thugs and secret societies.

There are no innocent by standers in these debates as you claim to be.

Allowing your views to be posted on our website is an indulgence. It is not a right given by any of the Chinese bloggers of any repute who promote the singluar interests of Chinese over anyone else like the DAP does, then claim they act for Anak Bangsa Malasyia, whatever on gods earth that means.

What you are facing now and what we write about is about that tide of politically incorrect resistance from Non Chinese in the region.

The Chinese are perceived with good reason to be at the heart of the divisive propaganda on the net and elsewhwere to undermine the rights of Malays and other non Chinese.

Your ignorancce of the Wain issue and the Soros letter chain and its origins is not a burden anyone else ought to carry. Its simply your own ignorance.

The unrelenting Malay bashing by Indians and Chinese groups hiding behind the thin veneer of respectability that political oppositions groups offer is a fig leaf.

The Chinese in Malaysia and Singapore I might add are unmistakeably and unashamedly at the core of this drive using their economic clout and their high profile and excellent organisaitonal skills to promote it. However when the shoe is on the other foot and it does not appear to fit, it becomes racist, it requires proof to other peoples standards and the like.

I live in Kepong and the attitude, here and other places where the Chinese are predominant, when I shop or dine, is certainly discriminatory. Because I look like a Malay.

Anyway no worries, you are the minority of a Chinese among Chinese, as stated and you give up. That is another profile. You see, the LKS, LKY and the like, theyl never give up.

    1. I think you have raised some very valid and interesting issues here. The article was deliberate. It would be considered racist in many other places and perhaps even banned. But the reason the article was carried here was because of the race and religion based identification of Malaysians in Malaysia and Singapore (de facto Malaysia).

It is something many (particularly non Malay) Malaysians tend to want to keep when it suits their cause and to try to discard when faced with the truth of their shortcommings. Their race. Then they all want to be is what some absurdly call “anak bangsa Malaysia” whatever that means. You can be anak Malaysia (your nationalissty) but not Anak Bangsa Malaysia (because the bangsa here is either China, Melayu or India). Now to get rid of that separation one immerses oneself in the culture and language of Melayu. There is nothing in adding to that one’s individual heritage- but to keep it in perspective and proportion.

Indians and Chinese as settlers in countries that they live in have proved themselves to be good citizens. But history has also shown that the people of these two cultures can be and are often more chauvanistic than even the European where race and cultural domination is an issue. I have a great admiration for the Chinese and Indians for a number of things. But the issues I wanted brought to the fore here was about those things about them (Chinese) that divide and are perhaps not so honourable and are an issue in the politics and cultural landscapes of our region. Its not personal.

I am not suggesting that others don’t have these traits. But its a different thing to be nationalistic in your own home (even if it tends to border on jingoism sometimes) and to be overtly chauvanistic and domineering to the point of being a menace to the development of gods other creatures. If god wanted us all to be Indian Chinese or European he would have created us so. I am sure you would agree that the concept of god is that he is almighty, all powerful, knows and sees all and is merciful. He does not need us to re invent mankind.

To read about the Chinese domination of south east Asia there are many many good books many of which I am unable to immediately and off the top of my head recommend.

However “the politics of heroin in south east Asia” (Dr. Alfred McCoy), Lee Kuan Yew (the man and his ideas) Michael D. Barr would be a good start.

It was so obvious that, when something goes wrong the UMNO name will came up first, that was so OBVIOUSSS eventhough it is not related to UMNO at all and DAP is 1 ULTRA KIASU party. The battle is longgg and UMNO should clean up their act as well because they are not all clean so that we can focus on this ULTRA KIASU people!

    Like

    1. It is an observation many make but few comment on because it has become so blatant and boring. UMNO may not be clean and neither are any of the others. But thats not the point. If Malaysians (opposition of the Kiasu type) want a freer and fairer Malaysia not based on race they ought to show the rest of the world what they mean by it. Every time it does not rain, it is blamed on the NEP and UMNO which is a way of saying Malays. Its the old Chinese way of saying, “if its not our way then its the highway”. Only they know how to do things right. Jail all who oppose their leaders (or execute them like the annual cull of 10,00 in China) and show the world the clean streets and consumer goods they produce with it.

    1. Specifically what is it that you find disturbing about the article “What the Chinese in Malaysia really want”? Which generalization or parts thereof do you find disturbing and why? I would be happy to respond to you on that score if you could be a bit more specific.

The DAP are by any definition racist. They continue to attack the Malays per se. Their attacks inevitably go to an attack on the Malays, generalizations of what Malays are like and threaten to undermine Malay progress. Their pet subject is the NEP for reform (read destruction). The DAP have no policy for the development and advancement of Malays especially rural Malays and underprivileged Malays who are the majority of Malaysia’s population. They use UMNO and the Barisan as their fig leaf to target Malays. They say UMNO this and BN that, but the target of their real policy drive is to attack the Malays. They reflect the ideology of their masters in Singapore. Their attitudes towards Malays is one and the same.

The DAP play to a largely Chinese constituency and stir up Chinese fears much of which they create and promote themselves. They have little time or value for their Malaysian Indian constituents. These are but tokens to suit each politial occassion. They came out in support of Hindraf because it could not be ignored. Their writers were at the forefront of condeming the movement immediately after that.

Take the case of Teh Beng Hock and his death and the attention he continues to recieve from them and their supporters and compare that with the attention they have paid to the horrendous death in custody of Kugan. Kugan has no currency in their mainly Chinese constituency. So he is out of their radar. They are racist. What more do you want? They write in Chinese characters then ask for equality. Which Indian or Malay wants Chinese characters to dominate his life especially after the Singapore lesson?

For a party that wants equality for all Malaysians they tend to show a very Chinese face in everything they do. They are not even cosmetically un Chinese for the sake of promoting a more multi cultural front. They are racist.

A nation that size could not have been suppressed by tyrants throughout its history unless it was a nation made up of idiots. Yes there have been individuals who have made contibutions to society and to the world at large but they remain in a minority. Get richer? well that depends on your definition of rich. Ali Baba was rich/ So too were the British and their famous Opium trader Sassoon who sold opium to the Chinese. But do you call that wealth? When Sassoon and his empire were curtailed by world opinion including that of the Chinese, the Chinese took over his trade enslaving their own people. A modern day version of that trick is Lee Kuan Yew. But being a small island grabbed from Malays with British help, there is enough wealth to go around the small number of Chinese there to make the game of smoke and mirrors appear more real than it is.

Even with your lack of balls in not showing your name in the comment, i still believe they can trace you, as it is your country’s policy, to protect the people no matter the race. Furthermore, you people are the most ‘intelligent’ as you state, so heads up!

Ahh, so you have woken up from your “NEP” in your sty. I was feeling damn bored so I decided to post the Asahi Shimbun & LKY bit to see what kind of lies and crap response you are going to give. So you bit the bait, but as I fully expected, you did not have the bloody balls to put it here in your own blog. Your reply, or more accurately your ‘story’ is no different from all your other ‘stories’, very entertaining, very angry, very jealous, very fabricated, very full of lies. LKY is extremely well-respected through out the world, this is evident from the international accolades & awards he’s received from so many countries and country leaders including some of his detractors. There never was any self-flattery, LKY lets the world do the talking. But, Dog-tor MADhatir ? Now a sulking, defeated, senile old dick, no respect from anyone, except for uneducated and poorly-educated bastard Melayus, the gullible, naive, incestuous slaves of the Dog-tor who continue to blindly worship his balls and flatter him for having given them the feel-good with his mega white elephants that have turned M’sia into the laughing stock of the world, like the KL twin pricks, port klang, multi-media corridor……Remember my words GRK, your stories, your lies make no difference to me nor anyone for that matter. Your lone crusade to smother, distort, whitewash, rewrite the Truth is just a waste of time unless it is to give your and the dim-witted Melayus who believe you something to fantasy about. But a fantasy is just that, a fantasy. As I advised you before, time to snap out of your dream, give up NEP, do some real hard work, use whatever bit of brain you have for more productive thinking, and most of all, learn from the Chinese and Indians. While decades of incest may have dulled your brains, it’s still worth a try, coz even the Melayu cleaning the toilet has more self-respect and pride than you. At the very least, he’s working and earning his keeps.

Asahi Shimbun was the Japanese government’s propaganda tool durig the war. They allowed a Kempetai recruit Lee Kuan Yew (Harry) to be its local editor during the war after Lee claimed to have escaped execution. His other Chinese compatriots all of his age were machine gunned to death. The story goes (according to Lee) that he was allowed out of the death truck by the Japanese to go to the toilet from which he escaped.

What he also does not say to Singaporeans who like caged birds cannot question the man is that his mother Jim Neo was servicing another Japanese collaborator Tan Chong the wealthy Singpore port contractor who acted as Lee’s sponsor while Tan chong serviced Lee’s mother Jim Neo who betrayed and was unfaithful to Lee’s biological father.

As for your belief in the man I have to agree, anyone who treats Chinese especially the Singapore Chinese the way Lee did his friends for money and power, is smart.

I’ve re-posted here your lies (from your email to me) that you wanted to hide from others :

  30. Zero-Life, the biggest racist pig is none other than GRK. My harshest comments are reserved for him only and all like-minded Malaysians. He’s a bloody big liar, spinning all kinds of false accusations and stories about Chinese and LKY. Go read what the other Malaysian blogs say about him. I’m simply giving him a taste of his medicine. Didn’t you notice that after I stepped up my attacks on his bloggings, he has finally stopped all his nonsense of distorting history, twisting facts, hiding the truth and insulting Singaporeans and Lee Kuan Yew. My underlying message to GRK is simple : Do not mess around with Singapore or Singaporeans.

    1. southern neighbour, a racist will never admit himself/herself a racist. Even if they do admit, they will definitely not announced it out loud. I only judge someone a racist by their behaviour and selections of words. I believe other people judges me in the same manner too.

Your selection of words such as ‘Dog-tor mad-hatir’ is a clear representation of a carefully crafted word intended to hurt somebody’s feeling, or to show hate. The actual name is much easier to type, but it took you great length to twist the words to express your feeling of hate to the readers.

Once you put your emotions or personal vendetta into an argument, it will never ends in a civilized way.

I admit current Malaysia are not at the same par as Singapore, but we are catching up. It may take 100 years or so, but we’ll get there.

I can fully accept your arguments if its done in a more ethical way. He maybe a liar, spinner as you claim but he does not use bad manipulated words.

Since you said other malaysian blogs have the same opinion as you, I dare you put all of your lengthy arguments here inside your blog in singapore. It won’t take much effort anyway since you can just copy it. Just try, i’ll be the first one to read it.

  31. oh man, you put your words as seems as there is not a single racism in singapore. Furthermore, putting a value of ‘entire lifetime and beyond’ to it. A racist calling another as racist just doesn’t make sense. You accuse people of racist, when you yourself is proven racist by your statement here.

You are clearly blinded by the grudge in your chest and the so called superiority of your race.

To further strengthen my claim, you words:

“but once ur comments stray into S’pore or chinese in general, then all gloves are off,

What if my comments strays into the Singapore but instead of chinese, i criticized malays, indian or any other minorities there? Are you going to react the same way? This is a rhetorical question.

I look into people’s credibility when evaluating their opinions. Yours is compromised with your choice of words. The comments may be intended for a certain group of people only but you know that everybody can see it. When you fight fire with fire, you’ll only be getting more fire.

You just have to accept the fact that there will be people saying things about singapore, chinese, racism etc from malaysia for years to come. You may stop this one, but there are countless more. You may not be able to wear your ‘gloves’ for eternity.

I will not pursue any more argument with you as it is a waste of time. Arguing just for the sake of arguing will never lead anywhere. Name calling will only generate more name calling. This will never end, it is only natural.

I have an interesting video about singaporean for you to see. Please go to youtube, search for ‘racist chinese aunty on bus’. In the video you can see the lady shouting in a singapore bus shouting when the hair of a little girl sitting beside here touching her arm.

  32. The Malaysian Chinese want jobs, opportunities to do business, a sound future for their children and security in an environment of peace and harmony. So far, the BN Governments had fulfilled as much as they could to the best of their ability. However, it takes two to tango. Where is the solid Malaysian Chinese political leadership to exhort the Chinese to give their all in the National Interest and its National Development ? This is painfully lacking because their Malaysian Chinese Political Space was stolen via the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP since 1966 by the calculative Lee Kuan Yew for two generations ! He brainwashed these innocent souls who had much respect for academic achievements on his apparent brilliant performance at Cambridge. The truth of the matter was Lee Kuan Yew entered the bottom-most non-collegiate Fitzwilliam House by the back door without the compulsory Open Examination, Latin or Greek and was over-aged at 23. He cheated. Hence, his Public Policies of which there were 47 which were flawed 1959-2015.and reflected on his true and real abilities. With the theft of the Malaysian Chinese Political Space, the Malaysian Chinese became Political Eunuchs at his beck and call for two generations and split down the middle of their small community. Thanks to those who thought they would get Lee Kuan Yew by voting for the DAP ! So much for the game of smoke and broken mirrors by the Dynamic Duo. Until the Malaysian Chinese vote solidly for the BN then only will the Malaysian Chinese get more of what they want in sincere co-operation with the other communities. Until then, other communities will be indifferent or till the Malaysian Chinese make the DAP irrelevant. For the Malaysian Chinese it is a matter of self respect and honour to wake up and take the right course in their own interests and not be manipulated by some apparent clever outsider. Until then………!

    1. And further, the emasculation of the Malaysian Chinese by Lee Kuan Yew since 1966 by a two-pronged approach e.g. his creation of the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP and the incessant brainwashing using the national resources of Singapore via the media, the obliging bankers, tycoons, academicians, journalists, etc, firmly maintained his grip on their thinking for two generations. Why ? In the http://www.onlinecitizen.com 1964 Quote Lee Kuan Yew,’ The picture of a prosperous and flourishing Singapore as compared with the rest of Malaysia is most attractive.’ Hence, the mischievous DAP. He was not kicked out of the Federation as reported here. This crying on TV brought the Tunku to comment,’ I thought he was very happy when he left us.’ This was the only way Lee Kuan Yew got his freedom from the British. A two-faced politician at his best ? At the TV session, he forbade the photographers to take pictures of him smiling. But to enslaved the Malaysian Chinese minds was not the end of the story. There was the much bigger picture of dealing with the Americans as regards their powerful support for him only. He could not turn up at the White House representing only 800,000 Chinese between 21-50 ( 2017 figures) of Singapore. With a sleigh of hand, he could represent also the 6 Million Malaysian Chinese which together could be 8 Million. But according to Lee Kuan Yew the Malays threaten the Chinese all the time in South East Asia . Hence, another 6 Million Indonesian Chinese are under threat to make up another 14 Million which he claimed to represent. By implication, Lee Kuan Yew was the leader of all the Chinese totalling 20 Million in South East Asia if not the World ex-China but with Taiwan included.as his little brother. OK ? It is nearly 3 years after Lee Kuan Yew has departed. Where are the threatening Malays ? Someone has been conned. The Malaysian Chinese and the Americans !
