That thin veneer of respectability the Chinese led opposition in Malaysia have hidden behind for so long is beginning to peel. And revealing whats hidden beneath it is a contemptible bunch of racists. Chine racists. Anti Malay, anti Muslim and anti human to the core. It appears that the more things change, the more they remain the same as far as this Kuomintang indoctrinated pool of political swill is concerned.
But whatever you do don’t mention the word Chinese when referring to racists in context and when the Chinese like this woman are caught out with their pants down. Pointing out other people’s faults is a Malaysian Singaporean Chinese monopoly. Especially so if that exercise of nit picking by them is directed at the Malays and Muslims.
Amy’s tirade against the Malays is nothing more than an extension of that Singapore driven and orchestrated Chinese campaign to topple the Malay led government of Malaysia. Lets see how the opposition and Chinese groups in Malaysia now react to exposure of this racist rant by a Singapore government official born in Malaysia.
Will they now demand Amy and the Chinese behind her be referred to as Malaysian instead of Chinese and want their views to be dealt with as such? or will the Chinese “persecuted minority” complex rear its ugly head as their defence.

Amy Cheong, fled Singapore after an outcry over a Facebook post about Malay weddings.
A Perth woman at the centre of a racism storm in Singapore has fled to WA after she was sacked over a Facebook post that sparked a public outcry. University of WA graduate Amy Cheong, 37, caused outrage across the South-East Asian republic on Sunday by posting a comment about Malay weddings, which are often held in public spaces beneath housing blocks in Singapore.
Apparently frustrated by the noise from a wedding, she wrote: “How many f…ing (sic) days do Malay weddings at void decks go for? Pay for a real wedding you a……, maybe then the divorce rate won’t be so high. How can society allow people to get married for 50 bucks?”
The post went viral within hours, leading to Facebook groups calling for Ms Cheong to be sacked, YouTube videos accusing her of racism against the Malay community and a barrage of malicious online posts. Ms Cheong, a Malaysian-born Australian citizen, was sacked on Monday from her job as assistant director of Singapore’s National Trade Union Congress for Membership Partnership and Alliance.
She issued a long apology, but Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said it had come too late and the damage was done. He condemned the comments as unacceptable and offensive to Malay Muslims.”It sharply reminds us how easily a few thoughtless words can undermine our racial and religious harmony,” he said.
Ms Cheong told state media on Tuesday she was leaving for Perth because of threats to her and her family and to “ease the tension”. In her apology, Ms Cheong wrote: “I am terribly sorry to all who were affected emotionally, mentally and in all other aspects. I am aware of the pain I’ve caused through my insensitive remarks on social media.
“There was no racism intended in my post. I was trying to rest and the noise was affecting me greatly, however, I do understand this is not a valid reason to post what I did.”
Her boss, Lim Swee Say, said firing Ms Cheong was a difficult decision and urged Singaporeans to “spare a thought for Amy and the pain she is going through”. He said the NTUC “would not accept … any words or actions taken by staff that are racially offensive”.
It is understood she had been working for the union for a year, but had been living in Singapore for 10 years after moving from Perth, where she grew up. Singaporean local Ryan Soh, a sales consultant, said the comments had come at a sensitive time in Singapore.
“The Government is trying hard to create a picture of racial harmony because we have a lot of races here, Chinese, Indians and Malays,” he said. “It is a balancing act and when these comments came, they touched a lot of raw nerves.”

Strangely enough the Nut Graph, Malaysia Kini, Ambiga Sreenivasan and other vitriolic critics of government in Malaysia (a government they often refer to as racist) have been deafeningly silent over this matter. We have constantly referred to the oppositions plans for Malaysia as being a regurgitation of the Singapore model the Chinese of Malaysia would like to remould Malaysia into under their rule. Wishful thinking on their part?

To the Malays and other non Chinese apologists of the anti Malay mould, this is in truth what the Chinese think of you. If there is genuine concerns over the misconduct of government, its policies and its governance of the country, then everyone ought to all be involved in the process and participation of change. Not simply those who are on the purse strings of foreign groups who operate as a policy free zone agitating for the marginalization of a majority in preference of a vocal and racist self serving minority with deep pockets.

The Malay language began as a dialect in Cambodia which was developed first by the Hindus (through Sanskrit) and later the Buddhists (through Pali, a Sanskrit dialect) into the lingua franca of the Archipelago, hence the Malay Archipelago, for missionary purposes, education, administration and trade.

The Malay-speaking communities in Peninsular M’sia are actually Bugis, Javanese, Minang, Acehnese, Muslims from Indian sub-continent, Arabs and the like who communicated in the language with each other. Hence, the British called them Malays. This was after the British fought two wars with Bangkok to carve out Peninsular M’sia (the southern half of the Kra peninsula) from the Thai kingdom to plant rubber and mine tin. Since the “Malay” squatters were in the way, the British created reservations for them.
The Federal Constitution does not state that the so-called Malays are the Orang Asal (Natives) of Peninsular M’sia. It only defines who is a Malay. The Federal Constitution refers to only the Orang Asli as the Orang Asal (Natives) of Peninsular M’sia. The Orang Asal of Sarawak are the Dayaks while the Dusunic Group including the Kadazans or urban Dusuns and the Murutic Group are the Orang Asal (Natives) of Sabah.
It was the Malayalee Muslims in Singapore who created the concept of Malay nationalism to fight Chinese economic domination. This phenemenon has been well captured in The Origin of Malay Nationalism by Professor William Roff. The Malayalee Muslims in Singapore started the first Malay printing press and the first Malay newspaper to propagate the Malay nationalism concept.
The entire population of southeast Asia are descended from the Dravidians (archaic Caucasoids) who made their way from South India, along the coasts, to South China and Taiwan and mated with the Mongolian tribes living there. This has been confirmed by DNA studies.

Just like there is no Indian or Chinese ethnic group/ China is an artificial state of over 30 different “peoples”. India is a nation of several different ethnic groups bonded together by the Hindu culture. That includes the the Muslim cultures. You have forgotten the most controversial of all statements which is taught as anthropology and history at some of the best universities of the world. “The Arayan Invasion”. As professor Alan Dershovitz once said, it is odd how lawyers have to prove their cases in many instances to the standard of beyond reasonablee doubt, whils historians theorise and speculate and it gets taken for fact. So what? She is a Malaysian born Chinese woman who took up Australian citizenship. Citienship does not cure that
fundamental defect complained of and hi lted in the article. So what if a Malay teacher is alleged to have insuled
her “non Muslim” pupils last year. What was the ‘racism’ she is guilty of that you allege? And if you case is proven
are you suggesting that it is an excuse for this Chinese woman’s expression of her community’s sentiment against another group
who are non Chinese? isn’t that what the argument is about. The Chinese are terribly racist. More so than the others. And you

Your ealier of two letters proves the point that she is racist and the Chinese
support her racism. That by default includes the DAP and Ambiga Sreenivasan an apologist for them. She Ambiga upholds the
view the government of Malaysia is racist and that the Malays are racist in many of her claims in lectures, forums
and in writing about Malaysia’s government and the Malays. We adopt the same standard as she and the DAP does.
In the second part of your complaint you lend credence to the generalization this woman is racist and by default the Chinese
represented y the DAP and Ambiga etc etc…..
The DAP is a predominatly Chinese opposition party ready to run to the defence of the
“Rakyat” as it refers to the disgruntled Chinese in Malaysia. They certainly do not support the Indians or Malays and have
no symbolic gestures like the Chinese characters that adorn their policy statements, their posters, websites and the rest for
the Indians and Malays. It is exclusively for the Chinese. Karpal and Ambiga who support them are their house maid and houseboy.
But thats their choice. They are ashmad of the communities they come from. It won’t change a thing and does not make the Indians
or the Malays any lesser people because two undignified individuals with little self respect should go ass licking rich and powerful
Chinese.

Hey Gopal, its simple fact: if you make an accusation, you need to back it up with evidence. Prove that she is a supporter of DAP, Guan Eng for PM, Bersih, Ambiga, and whatever else you might want to pin on her.
By the way, show where I said that Siti Inshah’s racist acts on her charges is justification for the racist behaviour by Amy. Because you are just adding things to what I said.

There’s no such thing as Malay ethnicity. Language is no proof of race. But that doesn’t stop any number of people continuing to ventilate their ignorance in public. These are people being educated beyond their intelligence.
The Malay-speaking communities in Peninsular Malaysia are not the Orang Asal (Natives) of the Kra Peninsula which includes the southern half where they first settled as squatters on Thai territory. Read the unwritten Malaysian Constitution which is based on the written Malayan Constitution and the constitutional documents which form the basis for Sabah and Sarawak to be in Malaysia.
If you are not Orang Asal, you are not Native. Native status by the right of first settlement (Orang Asal) is not the same as being a squatter (occupying other people’s territory). The Malay-speaking communities in Peninsular Malaysia are squatters occupying Thai territory where the only Natives are the Orang Asli.
Africa or no Africa, there’s such a thing as Orang Asal (Native) as recognized by Adat and the Land Laws (Native Customary Right land), and both reflected in the Constitution, constitutional documents, constitutional conventions, ordinances, enactments and acts and administrative law.
The Malay-speaking communities in Peninsular Malaysia don’t have Native land because they are not the Natives of the land. No so-called Malay in Peninsular Malaysia dare stand up and claim that he’s a Native (Orang Asal).
The Bugis pirates who became sultans — mini Popes — in Peninsular Malaysia did not have territory but confined their spiritual administration of the Malay-speaking Muslim communities to the riverine regions that they occupied — kerajaan sungei — to collect toll along the waterways. It was the British who drew territorial boundaries for the sultans, gave them a yearly pension and stopped the toll collection.
All Orang Asal (Natives) are Bumiputera (sons of the soil) but not all Bumiputera are Orang Asal.
A Bumiputera who is not an Orang Asal is a Bumiputera in Malaysia by virtue of being born in the country as a citizen by operation of law.

I disagree that all Chinese feels this way towards the Malays. I believe that majority of rational Chinese thinks the way Amy Cheong does is towards the Malays in power that create policies discriminating the non Malay population in Malaysia. Those that bear the blunt of discrimination i.e. non Malay civil servants whom are passed over promotion though they deserve it, businessmen who
lost Govt contracts because of color of skin and so on. It is not the Malay on the street that caused them to be deprived. If you look at the situation deeper, even the Malays themselves are taken for a ride by the elite Malays who are in position to do so. Personally, I believe if non Malays are put in power, they will probably do the same. It is the human greed factor that causes people irrespective of color to behave this way. When they have all the money, they crave for status and power. They saying goes “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”.

Well well I am glad you disagree. Of the many millions of Chinese in Malaysia and Singapore of the over 2,000 hits we have had in one day (today) only one Chinese bothers to express a view that could redeem the Chinese now they have been caught out again. You see my friend there is no redemption. Ketuanan Melayu is a creature of necessity bron out of the Chinese hatred of the Malays. it is survival of the Malays at stake. Their culture, their history and their rights to be Malays in Malaysia.

Discimination towards non Malays? where? its called affirmative action and engineered by the Indians, Chinese and the British on the realization that the Malays were discriminated against in their own homeland for centuries. The Americans have affirmative action for their native Indians, the Aboriginal Australians enjoy it in Australia, the Indians have it for their “OBC’s” (other backward castes), the Japanese for their Ainu but not the Chinese. Why?
Well lets look at Tibet, Xingjiang and other nations within China and how the Han Chinese treat these people simply because they the Han barbarians are superior in numbers? Animals fare better in other countries than humans in China but not even in China. No form of human life enjoys any safety in your presence. The skin colour you complain of is the ideology of the Chinese in the Asian context. You make up a lot of excuses. But the general silence of the Chinese on this partcular issue cannot be forgiven or forgotten. I tis the hallmark of Chinese institutionalised racism. They think it is acceptable and normal.
The discrimination you speak of is about a meritocracy you can’t live with. You like Amy Cheong believe yourself to be superior to the Malays that when your incompetence shows and you are passed over it becomes discrimination. I really don’t care about Malay or Bumiputra [M & B]. I am more interested in the impact it has. The Malay or Bumiputra whatever this means cannot be placed above all the other races in Malaysia. The so called “affirmative action policies”[AAP] coined by the Kennedy administration as a result of supporting families that came through slavery and the “pariahs” or “untouchables” from India cannot apply to the M & B in Malaysia.
Today as we speak the question of affirmative action is being argued in the US Supreme Court-the key question here is whether this policy must continue to support “the minorities” in the USA. There are 2 things-the “minorities” [in Malaysia –AAP is for the majority] and the “minorities” in the USA are identified. In Malaysia, every Tom , Dick and Harry [including new immigrants from Indonesia and Bosnia] The jailed Ex-MB of Selangor was a 3 generation Indonesian immigrant to Malaysia.
All these issues need to be addressed. Malaysia is wrongly formulated and is unable to move on because there is no national identity or patriotism. The courts are impotent. If what Malaysia is truly dishing out is AAP , then the court must decide whether as an example is Mahathir Mohamed entitled to this benefit-Is he a M &B ?; Is he entitled-he is a millionaire? ; How long wills this benefit last [time period]. All these questions must be answered by a court of law. But is there a judiciary in Malaysia? That is a separate question.

India and China will never interfere in Malaysia even if the racist Umno Malays murdered these two communities just as a managing director will not interfere with his General Manager’s way of handling the staff. The only way to kick India and China into action on Malaysia is to politicise the issue in these two countries. Hindraf Makkal Sakthi has been doing that in India and among the Diaspora.

Agree with you GRK 100%..this guy Peter Goh is a typical chinese in Malaysia that keep on harping of racial discrimination in Malaysia. In 1969, DAP incited the non Malays that they were third class citizen because of the special rights of the Malay that was enshrined in the constitution. Remember during this time there was no NEP and 70% of division A civil servant came from the non Malays community. The moment the DAP won few extra seats, they organised to chase the Malays out of KL..
Do you find in any countries that for a community that claimed racial discrimination but they lived in posh bungalow and drive a mercedes? Only in Malaysia, GRK. For the like of Peter Goh, if you don’t like it here, down south n down under is willing to take you..Please leave and tag along your relatives too. The other side may be a greener pasture.

The Chinese are now begging for it again in places like Australia where people are beggining to witness their very overbearing nature.
They constitute the largest single ethnic group of illegals and the economic boom years are coming to an end. Australians are going to
want answers. They do not carry the burden of guilt of Pauline Hanson anymore.
Peter Goh and others like him write in such a way that it beggars belief why they are not acepted in local universities and given scholarships.

Ketuanan Melayu — Malay political domination and supremacy — was an understanding forged between Umno and MCA during Tunku Abdul Rahman’s time.
Tunku felt that since the Chinese controlled the economy, the Malay-speaking communities should control and lead the politics.
Ketuanan Melayu, a Social Contract between the Umno and MCA people, broke down in 1969 when Gerakan took Penang, PPP won half the seats in Penang and Dap won half the seats in Selangor.
The May 13 Sino-Malay race riots broke out when MCA decided to stay out of the Government.
Ketuanan Melayu was buried for good when Umno announced the New Economic Policy in 1970.

You better learn that you can’t kill a Chinaman in Malaysia no matter how much you try. The racist Umno tried to do a number on the Chinese and ended up splitting the Malays into four political camps which will never come together again. At the same time, Umno is full of warlords and factions and just waiting to implode. You are too late to lick the arse of the Umno Malays. About 500 years ago, before the advent of the west in Southeast Asia, India and China were the richest and most developed countries in the world. Southeast Asia was a zone of peaceful contention between India and China. While India’s influence was cultural, religious and economic, China’s was political and diplomatic. China even looked to India for her religion and philosophies. Today, the cycle of history has turned once again, and India and China are set to regain their rightful places in the sun. Both India and China will learn to live with each other. India will not be a party to any move by Washington to encircle China. Both Asian giants will work together to keep the west in its place. This is a more important story than the ravings of a lunatic like Gopal RK. Today, all the wars going on in the world are those fomented by the west. India, like China, is too big to get involved in these wars. But the west won’t be able to bully these other nations forever when the two Asian giants speak with one voice.

Or a mere nationality to encompass the diverse peoples of Siam? Do you know anything about Siam’s historiography? Of the socio-political intricacies involving the Siamese polities of Sukhothai and Ayutthaya with the Malay kingdoms of Langkasuka, Tambralinga and Sathing Phra and later the volatile states of Thonburi and Krung Thep with the Malay nations of Patani, Singgora, Ujung Salang, Kelantan and Kedah?
Where do you think the Kelantanese and their Patani brethrens come from? From your Dravidian fantasyland as well? Any trace of “Indian” blood in Nik Aziz? Tg. Razaleigh? HRH the Sultan? So adherence to imported Hinduism and Buddhism automatically makes one of “Indian” origin, a descendant of some great Dravidian conquest that exists only in your convoluted mind?
By the same logic, the little brown people of the Philippines are descendants of Spanish conquistadors by virtue of their Catholic faith? And the East Timorese are nothing more than tropicalised Portuguese?

Thanks for the post GRK. Of late, i am studying and analyzing contemporary Malaysia from different aspects like Economy, Politics, Race, Religion etc. The main reason being till recently, i never knew anything about M’sia except smuggling and traffiicking.
But now, Lower castes, Dalits, Muslims & Christians find increasingly insecure though most of our ancestors were converts from lower castes.
But the ramifications of our existence is felt among so-called born-again Brahmanist Hindutva lunatics who are calling loud and clear to erase us out of our own country.
In this context, globally the Western/North American Upper castes Diaspora has been one of the major contributors of incitement towards hatredness, violence and genocide against everyone who is not “a Hindu” back in India. Till sometime ago, i never knew obscure hate-groups like Hindraf and HMK are linked to M’sia who contributes in propagating hate-speech back to their ancestral India threatening our survival.
In this view, i find the comments of “Adigelam Belachami” disgusting and utterly malicious in creating more problems when he/she mentions above that // The only way to kick India and China into action on Malaysia is to politicise the issue in these two countries. Hindraf Makkal Sakthi has been doing that in India and among the Diaspora. //
Now i understand, after the comments made by this maniac,that to solve problems of M’sia they want to drag India. Can i reciprocate the same GRK? Since Indian Muslims are persecuted in our country, can i force M’sia to intervene and assist us? I hope you understand the logic made here.
Hate cannot be combated with hate. Love should bring people together. An eye for an eye will make everyone go blind unless we practice forgiveness and tolerance.

You have provided a welcoime new dimension to the debates on race, religion and politics here. As for Adigelam Belachami we have to tolerate their “contributions” on GRK in order that we are able to maintain the character of our blog.
That being the ability to tolerate a different opinion or point of view. Unfortunately in Malaysia, the majority of the so called opposition consist of those who will spew their contumely on the rest of us which is okay in a democracy.
But woe betide you if you respond with a contrarian view.
The leaders of Malaysias opposition are quick to call Malaysia’s government undemocratic. Ambiga Sreenivasan a Brahmin you would like to kno a little more about, is a lawyer in this mould. She “champions” free speech and freedom of
assembly providing these ar hers and hers alone. She like the Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and that insufferable Sardar Karpal Singh will write and speak in volumes about Human rights and freedom of expression but censor you if you
decide to offer an opinion not in agreement with theirs. Such is the dilemma faced by the majority Malays in Malays when dealing with the other two groups here, the mainly Tamil Indians and the Chinese. The Sardars avoid contact of
any sort publicly with the Tamils. They prefer instead the well heeled Chinese.
Your views and your contribution is always welcome here. Hindraf and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad are linked for convenience. In truth the VHP hate the Tamils. But where you have a common interest, the hatred of Muslims, they are in
unison. Thankfully Hindraf’s chief Waythamurthi has come home to roost, the British government having found his activities to be an embarassment to them. They continue to have good relaitons with the current Malaysian government.
India has excellent relaitons with Malaysia and will not intervene as people wishfully expect. The Chinese are a different story. it is borne out of political expediency. The mainland Chinese hate their Malaysian Kuomintang kin with a vengence although
they are happy to do business with each other. They don’t trust the Malaysian and Singapore Chinese for their alligience to the pro Japanese Taiwanese nationalists.
