Vatican Arrests former Diplomat on Child Pornography Matters

The following is an extract from an article by Reuters about paedophiles within the Catholic church again. The number of paedophiles and homosexuals amongst the Catholic clergy has reached  pandemic proportions, the Vatican now finds it hard to deny or cover up for them.

This article has hit the headlines worldwide but not amongst Christians in Malaysia who chose to ignore it and sweep it under the carpet. The Catholic Herald will not be running the story because it is true and exposes the culture within the church which calls government corrupt. They are more interested in stirring a hornets nest by attempting to convert Muslims to Christianity, about using the word Allah provocatively and printing bibles for distribution amongst Muslims in Bahasa.  It is also because the churches in Malaysia are largely opposition and Regime Change supporters.

Whilst the Catholic Church in places like Malaysia join the unholy chorus of the west in condemning countries like Malaysia for being “corrupt and undemocratic”, the rest of the enlightened world continues to monitor the Vatican’s embarrassment in unearthing  its own empire of moral and legal corruption exposing those worms that lurk within promoting Regime Change abroad. Perhaps it is time for Regime Change within the Vatican itself

Regime Change has been a convenient distraction for the most corrupt and corrupted in our midst. They always appear to claim the moral high ground in an attempt to cover up their multitude of sins especially against children.

The opposition in Malaysia who consist of a large number of Christians and church goers like Cynthia Gabriel, Fr. Lawrence Andrew, Elizabeth Wong, Teresa Kok, Rev. Ng Moon Hing and a broad section within the Malaysian Bar like Tommy Thomas call for the destruction of the Malaysian state in order to overcome “corruption and restrictions on democracy”.

There was a deafening silence on this subject from the late Tenaganita chief Irene Fernandez. Irene a supporter of neo slavery and the trade of domestic helpers from the poorer nations of south east Asia to Malaysia often claimed to be fighting for domestic helpers when in fact her self promoting strategies led to more misery amongst domestic helpers.

Irene Fernandez said nothing about the disgraceful conduct of priests within the Catholic Church including those known paedophiles and sex offenders in Malaysia. She knew or ought reasonably to have known of the culture of oppression and sexual exploitation of the poor and weak by priests, nuns and brothers within the church but said and did nothing about it.

The existence of paedophiles amongst Christian (mainly Catholic) brothers and priests in Malaysia has long been known to Christians but not acknowledged by the laity out of fear and  a misguided sense of loyalty.

It is a different story in the ‘Free World’. There is no self censorship amongst Christians in the west. There they are fighting back and fighting back hard.

The below is a peep through the cracks of that body of the high moral ground backers of the opposition in places like Malaysia.

Come the next General Elections think of what waits in store for your children who as victims of the paedophile culture within the churches must remain silent. They won’t be able to complain if the opposition takes root in Malaysia. They must remain silent about these crimes against them as they and the maid community are compelled to do now.

The opposition will continue to be silent and even cover up these crimes if they do get to sit in parliament.

Just as Tenaganita’s Irene Fernandez was silent on the issue, C4’s Cynthia Gabriel remains silent, the DAP through Teresa Kok, Elizabeth Wong and other Christians like Xavier Jeyakumar and Charles Santiago remain silent on the most heinous, disgraceful and immoral crimes against children in our midst everywhere.

VATICAN CITY, April 7 (Reuters) – The Vatican said on Saturday its police had arrested a monsignor who worked as a diplomat at its embassy in Washington and is suspected of possessing child pornography in the United States and Canada.

A statement identified the accused as Msgr. Carlo Alberto Capella and said he was arrested earlier on Saturday in the Vatican after a warrant was issued by the Holy See’s chief magistrate at the end of an investigation.

The Vatican statement said Capella, who was recalled from the Vatican embassy in Washington last August, was arrested according to articles of a 2013 law signed by Pope Francis. The articles cited by the statement related to child pornography.

If indicted, the monsignor will have to stand trial in the Vatican and faces up to 12 years in jail.

The scandal is the latest blow to the Catholic Church as it struggles to overcome repeated sex abuse cases among its clergy.

Francis has declared zero tolerance over abuse scandals that have beset the Church for decades, but critics say he has not done enough, particularly to hold bishops responsible for mishandling or covering up abuse.

The State Department notified the Holy See in August of a possible violation of laws relating to child pornography images by a member of the diplomatic corps of the Holy See accredited to Washington, the Vatican said in September.

A State Department spokesman said in September that the United States had requested that the man’s diplomatic immunity be waived to open the way for possible prosecution there but the Vatican refused.

Capella entered the diplomatic corps in 2004 and before serving in Washington he held diplomatic posts in Hong Kong and Italy.

It was not possible to reach Capella, who the Vatican said was being held in a cell in the Vatican’s police barracks.

After Capella was recalled to Rome, police in Windsor, Canada said they had issued an arrest warrant for him on suspicion of possessing and distributing child pornography on the internet.

A statement by Canadian police at the time said the suspected offenses occurred while he was visiting “a place of worship” in Canada.

The recalling and arrest of Capella was the worst involving a diplomat since the case in 2013 of former Archbishop Jozef Wesolowski, who was Polish.

Wesolowski faced charges of paying boys for sexual acts, downloading and buying pedophile material while he was the Vatican’s ambassador in the Dominican Republic.

He was recalled to Rome by the Vatican, arrested, and stripped of his duties after a report by Dominican media led to an investigation by Dominican magistrates.

He died in hospital in 2015 at the age of 67 before his trial before a Vatican court could begin. (Reporting by Philip Pullella, Editing by Hugh Lawson and Dale Hudson)
